My name is Tim aka the “Online Teacher Dude”, a name I fell into from my YouTube channel.

I was born on the island of Bermuda and proudly hold 3 passports : UK, Canada and Bermuda. I began my teaching career in New Brunswick, Canada and set sail for a year of teaching in Beijing, China with all intentions of returning to my permanent position in the district. Well, here we are 9 years later…and that didn’t happen!

In 2017 I left my teaching position at a private American school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and decided to pause my 11 years of teaching for the pursuit of flexibility and opportunity to explore life and all of its options.

I fell into online teaching and it “just worked” really well for me. I wanted something flexible, and this job allows me to do what I love, which is teach, without the report cards, parent-teacher interviews, overload of meetings, late-night planning and endless to-do lists.

I use this job to travel, live as a digital nomad, create my own “work at home” schedule and pursue lots of other interests and learning. If this interests you please get in touch with me and I would love to chat!
