Twenix, operating in Italy & Spain, is an online learning platform focusing on empowering adult professionals to enhance their English communication.
The focus is on English fluency and helping their students (adults) communicate effectively in the workplace and in their personal lives.
Their lessons are personalized, and student-driven, and empower their students to speak and make connections from the lesson to their daily lives.
They offer 26-minute, 1:1 lessons.
All class material is provided in advance. Students do not choose their teacher, rather the “tweacher”, as Twenix calls the teachers, is assigned to the student and you will have different students in each class.

Wise is a great way to send and receive payments. You can enjoy low transfer costs and the best exchange rates. I use WISE to live in Thailand and transfer funds from Canada to my Thai bank account. Also, it acts as a great bank account to receive funds as an online ESL teacher.
To enjoy a free transfer up to $500, get a WISE account here.

Twenix has an easy hiring/application process. I recently went through the process and found it to be very user-friendly and stress-free. All in all, it took about 1-2 weeks to complete everything.

- You will need to upload an online teaching resume at this stage as well.

- After submitting your application, you will hear back within 2-3 business days inviting you to submit 2 demo videos.
- Each video is 2 minutes in length.

- You should use your own device you will teach with to record in the same setting you will teach in.
Step 3: Onboarding
- Onboarding
- Create a Twenix account
- Upload your ID
- Onboarding training
How long does it take to hear back from Twenix?
* During the recruitment period: around 1 week.

How to pass the Twenix Demo?
I found that reading their demo information carefully is invaluable to passing your video demo.
They have put a lot of thought and time into helping you be successful. They are looking for specific skills in the video and they explain this clearly in their video instructions.
Here are some additional tips:
- Make sure you are recording the video in the area you will teach in (ie: background, lighting, etc..)
- Ensure you have great lighting and no background noise!
- Practice first, and try your best to get the video in under 2 minutes.
- Use their built-in recording software or use your own (Quicktime works great if you have a Mac, and you can also record using Zoom or Loom quite easily).
Twenix Pros & Cons
There is no perfect company! I would encourage you to do your research first and make sure they are a good fit for you. There are positives and negatives with everything in life. Here are a few pros and cons.
Pros:
- An excellent option for near-native speakers
- I love that they don’t discriminate on your country of origin
- Friendly and supportive hiring process
- Very flexible (you can transfer classes and pick up last-minute bookings)
Cons:
- Unknown salary until you get hired (not everyone gets the same pay)
- Low-season bookings (August and January are fairly low booking months)
- Teachers must maintain a rating of 4.7/5 stars. Struggling teachers are offered extra support and training.
- Strict no-show policy
My Twenix Review
Like everything in life, you won’t know until you try!
I found their onboarding process professional and efficient and I am looking forward to teaching my first class.
Their focus on earning from day one sets them apart from many other online ESL companies.
As well, their flexibility with rescheduling and moving around classes to another teacher is also a great plus.
Leave me a comment if you work for them, get hired or want to ask any questions!
